Long term intentions

To establish a diversely (in terms of age,species and size classification) structured mixed broadleaved woodland (reflecting NVC W16) and associated open ground. The new woodland will buffer existing neighjbouring Ancient Semi Natural Woodland (Alvanley Cliff) from external environmental impacts. The woodland paths with be accessible and on site facilites will include an information board and seating. The existing archaeological interest will be mapped and the land excluded from invasive intervention.

In the long term we plan to compare and contrast the impact of deep ploughing/soil inversion on tree and woodland flora establishment wih more traditional forestry orientated methodologies.
