Long term intentions

The intention is to manage the site as mixed conifer/broadleaved high forest. This will mean the removal of the dominance of the conifer crop over the next 25yrs by encouraging the natural succession to broadleaves (may need planting if not happening by 2010) as a result of appropriate thinning of the conifers or their natural death due to old age. This in turn will encourage a shrub layer to develop and allow a wider community of plants and animals to occur.
