Long term intentions

This woodland provides a good opportunity to meet the Woodland Trust's corporate aim to enhance woodland biodiversity by managing the woodland as minimum intervention high forest, allowing the canopy open and collapse by natural means. This being the case no intervention of the regeneration will take place even if the structure of this predominantly beech wood begins to change

Any change will be monitored and recorded through the management plan review process.

Management of hazel coppice will continue on a rotation of 10 years as long as local woodmen are interested in the coppice products. This will be a sustainable use for the wood as merits its FSC standard.
