Our woods in focus
 Anne's Wood, Cornwall - Lelant

Long term intentions

The woodland will be managed towards an attractive mixed broadleaf high forest with a diverse age and size structure, with an understorey of natural regeneration, minor tree species, woodland shrubs and ground flora. Felled and fallen trees and branches etc will be retained to form deadwood habitat. This will enhance the wood’s conservation, landscape and amenity values. Public access will maintain current access levels by management and improvements to the main path only. Ground flora and regeneration of tree and shrub species will be enhanced by reduction of erosion and compaction of the wood floor by only managing the approved access route. The present natural regeneration and any growing in the future will be managed to form a varied age and structured woodland and provide a basis for the long-term retention of the woodland as the existing trees reach senescence or blow over in gales.
